A selection from my collection of the metal work I've done.
Included are a variety of sword styles and types to demonstrate my range. Swords, hilts, trim and scabbards are all created by myself. Listed in the order they were created.
Top: Soujiro Seta's katana Nagasone Kotetsu from Rurouni Kenshin I have several katanas, I picked this one for display because the others don't photograph so well just sitting on the floor.
Center: Li Syaoran's jian (sealing sword) from Card Captor Sakura (Cardcaptors) Probably the most complex in this set of swords, there's a lot of trim on the jian and scabbard. The tassels are supposed to be huge and handmade. Li's Chinese, so I figured that he'd use a chinese knot on his jian. The chinese knot holding the tassels together I researched and also did myself. Scabbard's handpainted.
Bottom left: Ashitaka Hiko's machete from Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke) No guard which makes things interesting. The ring at the end was also a troublesome find. If I had to make it again, I'd use a drill
Right: Iba Tetsuzaemon's Zanpaku-to dagger from Bleach (anime) By now I'm more sophisticated and I finally learned how to tie a japanese style hilt properly. Interestingly it was one of the most time consuming parts to this piece.
amazing craftsmanship
i could only dream of any of those blades in real life
YOU ARE TRUELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
